Synopsis

Is there anything as agonizing as unrequited love? Possibly the searing pain felt deep in the heart of being summarily rejected? Or the remorse one feels for succumbing to the darkest impulses unleashed by being rebuffed? Find out by taking a journey through two lives dealing with unwanted love.

bleak is a collection of five short stories about lust, craving, rejection, and the levels to which one can sink while dealing with a broken heart. bleak takes the reader to parts of the human psyche we fear the most and explores the devastation which can result from us acting out on our animal instincts. These stories peer into the very abyss Niestzsche warned us of and lets the reader realize that no matter how bad it seems, it can always get worse!

Author

Michael Hernandez was born in 1976, the last of seven siblings. Horror has always been the genre which entertains me the most and I want to share my love for the genre in the best way I can imagine --by creating it. I tend to write about fairly dark subject matter, but I believe that everything has a bit of humor in it, so I will always try to avoid being morbid.
