Wendy Fallon Biography

Author

Wendy Fallon is a professional writer and artist. Currently working as a technical writer, her passion has always been making art. She has an educational background in Studio Art from the University of Connecticut and Architectural Design from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

From 2007 to 2010, she co-owned Art on Boston, a contemporary art gallery with exhibit space, artists’ studios, and classrooms in historic downtown Chandler, AZ. As a successful watercolorist, she created graphic and fine art for patrons across the United States, and taught beginning drawing to adults.

She is constantly discovering new outlets for creative expression and also enjoys writing in her spare time. Having published two non-fiction books about strengthening and using creative thinking in everyday life in 2012, she now applies her creativity to writing murder mysteries. Spring of 2018 will see the publishing of the first three books in her series, Cali May Mysteries, by Short on Time Books.

In addition, Fallon is a participant in a multiple author series, Tawnee Mountain Mysteries, also published by Short on Time Books. Black Diamond Graves finds California (Cali) May traveling to the Tawnee Mountain Resort in upper state New Jersey to attend an Artists’ Retreat, where she meets a collection of creative souls both dead and alive, and at least one murderer. After witnessing a mysterious fall from the ski lift, and coming nose to nose with a corpse she realizes no one is what they seem.

Fallon finds endless inspiration in both desert and shore climates. She and her husband lived in Phoenix, AZ from 1995 to 2016. They now make their home on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

A year after the death of her husband, Arizona resident and recently retired California (Cali) May is feeling old, tired and obsolete. As she spirals out of emotional control, she begins to experience terrifying visions. Burdened not only with depression and overwhelming grief, but now also with learning to live with ghosts, she begins to use her new, controversial talent to uncover clues to past and current murders. Discovering her husband did not succumb to cancer, but was murdered, she enlists the help of Daniel Silvertree, a Native American Arizona State Park Ranger and the only one who doesn't condemn her paranormal capabilities. Together they uncover the truth about the missing priceless Native American carvings, murder, and corporate corruption.

Cali May's daughter, Sophie, and her new boyfriend, Josh, fall over the body of Dolly Hart, a celebrity 'Jeweler to the Stars' while crawling through the Casa Grande ruins in Coolidge, AZ. At the same time, while waiting for her daughter to re-emerge from the seven-hundred-year-old multi-level mud structure, Cali is visited by a ghost child. Arizona artist, Cali, and Native American Arizona State Park Ranger, Daniel Silvertree, investigate and uncover a decades-old mystery disappearance of a mother and daughter, and a tale of Spanish treasure, sibling jealously, and water theft in the Sonoran Desert. Cali’s paranormal ability leads her into forensic art, and she begins providing her paranormal artistic talent to the local Phoenix Police Department.

Cali May attends an Artists' Retreat at Tawnee Mountain Ski and Golf Resort in North Jersey. She's appalled to see a figure fall from the Black Diamond ski lift as she and the other attendees ride the lift to a small lodge on the first day. She finds herself stranded at the top of the mountain with several creative souls both dead and alive, and must uncover a murderer before she too becomes a target.
