R.J. Rosatte Biography

R.J. Rosatte is a native of Prince Edward County, Ontario, known to the locals as simply “The County”.  He attended B.C.I.V.S. in Belleville, Ontario and then Loyalist College of Applied Arts & Technology where he studied accounting. Later in life he studied psychology and economics at the University of Western Ontario. Returning to Loyalist College, R.J. taught economics for the community extension division. He later studied creative writing there as well as attending several seminars on the subject delivered by a professor from Ryerson University.


Writing has been a life-long passion for R.J., having written several short stories and articles while in high school. In the years since he has penned three novels and one novella which is part of the six-author “Tawnee Mountain Mystery Series”. He is currently at work on a multi-book mystery series to follow up on this success.


His many careers have incuded being an infantry officer in the famed Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment of the Canadian Army Reserves, the most honored Canadian fighting unit of the Second World War. He also dispatched and managed large heavy trucking companies and owned three units of his own.

Taking to the open road in one of these long-haul units, R.J. spent many years plying the highways of North America as far as the Mexican border, and saw amazing sights and met hundreds of amazing, friendly people. These travels provide the background material for much of his writing.


R.J. has travelled far and wide over the years, including visiting every state in the continental U.S. and eight out of ten Canadian provinces. He and his wife, Wendy, have also visited several Caribbean Islands and have most recently toured Italy. They make their home at Bayside, in Quinte West, Ontario. They have six children and 11 grandchildren.
